About 7 Arrow Ranch

Located in Bowie, Texas, just south of the Red River, 7 Arrow Ranch is a small family farm where we raise pasture-raised chickens, turkeys, Spanish goats, a tiny herd of sheep, and a handful of Longhorn cattle — plus a healthy amount of dust, determination, and sunset chores (because mornings are not my "jam"). We believe good health starts with knowing where your food comes from and how it’s raised, which is why we spend as much time tending soil as we do tending animals. Healthy soil grows strong forage, strong forage grows healthy animals, and healthy animals nourish healthy families. It’s not complicated — just honest stewardship, a little sweat, and a lot of getting back to our roots through regenerative practices like rotational grazing.

We offer pasture-raised eggs and poultry, seasonal flock share opportunities, and the occasional farm extra like homemade stock or ground beef. We’re also part of conservation efforts to preserve the 100% pure Spanish goat, offering them for breeding or on-the-hoof meat. Our sheep herd and Longhorn herd are small and mostly destined for our own freezer (and admittedly, a little Texas ranch-pride fun), but they play a serious role in our grazing system — helping us grow more grass than the “official numbers” say we should. Turns out, the land responds pretty well when you work with it instead of against it.

At its core, 7 Arrow Ranch is a family effort. Our kids are part of daily farm life — gathering eggs, hauling water, helping to fix fences, feeding animals, and learning firsthand where food really comes from (spoiler: not the grocery store). They’ve seen both the beautiful and the hard sides of farm life, and through it all they’re growing into capable, grounded, faith-rooted people who know how to work, how to care, and how to keep going when the going gets tough.

Why We Do This

We believe naturally and ethically raised food is foundational to healthy bodies, strong communities, and thriving land. Our mission is to steward creation in a way that reflects God’s design — caring for soil, plants, animals, and people together. Through regenerative and permaculture-minded practices, we aim to raise nourishing food, restore the land, and preserve heritage livestock like the Spanish goat for generations to come.

But more than anything, we’re raising kids who understand hard work, respect creation, and know exactly how food gets from pasture to plate — not from box to microwave.

Our Story

The dream of this farm started long before we ever moved here. I grew up in the suburbs but always longed for wide-open spaces, livestock, and a slower, dirt-under-your-fingernails kind of life. My husband had more rural roots, and though we began our married life in a Fort Worth suburb, the pull toward the country never let go.

In 2017, we found this place — once a working cattle farm, but tired and neglected. We saw potential, took a deep breath, and jumped in (with equal parts excitement and “Lord, help us”). Chickens arrived first — the well-known gateway livestock — followed by goats, cattle, and a whole lot of learning by doing. Since then, we’ve worked to restore the land using chemical-free, regenerative methods: rotational grazing, electric fencing, no-till soil care, and letting each animal do what it was designed to do. Chickens scratch, goats browse, cattle mow, dogs guard, cats hunt, and the soil slowly comes back to life.

We do things a little differently here — always learning, always improving, always trying to care for everything from the microbes in the soil to the wildlife that shares this land with us. Our goal is simple: steward this place well, honor the legacy of those before us, and raise clean, responsibly produced food for our community.

Come along with us as we keep building stronger soil, healthier animals, capable kids, and a more rooted way of life — one fence move, one pair of dirty boots, and one sunset at a time.
